Warren United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church will be sharing many worship moments together in the coming year (and beyond!). We are grateful and delighted to be in community together as partner churches, and we look forward to the many events to come!



July 5th at 11 AM - Joint Worship Service at Warren UMC

  • “A More Comprehensive View of Independence” Part I

  • Message: Tony Norman, longtime columnist with Post-Gazette and currently freelance writer

  • Music: Drumming Groups and Solo – “Lift Up Every Voice and Sing” by Paulette Silver

  • Readings from an 1852 speech by Frederick Douglass “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July”

  • Light lunch after the service



July 28th – August 1st – In Home Gatherings

August 2nd at 10 AM - Joint Worship Service at First UMC

  • “A More Comprehensive View of Independence” Part II

  • Message: Dr. Kimberly Russaw, Professor at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary

  • Fellowship meal after the service



August 8th 10 AM – 3 PM Warren Community Day

  • Food and fellowship with the Community at Warren UMC


August 9th at Noon – FUMC Picnic at North Park

  • All members of the Warren and First UMC Communities are welcome



October 3rd – Prayer Walk from Warren UMC to First UMC along Centre Avenue

  • Relate prayer walk to Worldwide Communion Sunday October 4th

  • Begin at 10 AM at Warren and end at FUMC by noon

  • Stops for prayer along the way

  • Logistics to be published later



March 6 – 13, 2027 – Western PA Annual Conference Civil Rights Journey of the South

  • Anyone who is interested in this trip should send an e-mail soon to the FUMC Church Office at office@fumcpittsburgh.org.



Spring 2027 – Tour of Hill District
