COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

FUMC Drone Picture.png

One vibrant ministry of our church is to be a good neighbor. To that end, we often allow our building to be used by groups beyond the worshiping community at FUMC. Doing so gives us a great opportunity to learn more about the people of Pittsburgh surrounding us and for them to know our hospitality and support. We are enriched with the chance to hear wonderful local music within our walls, smell international food in our kitchen, and observe how others are addressing the needs of our surrounding area. There are also various spiritual groups using our building. Welcoming such groups into our space is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate our openness and inclusivity towards people with different backgrounds or beliefs.  This is a passive ministry that affirms groups as they are. Walking together on a path through this world while maintaining our identity and theirs is a great gift.
