We are thrilled to host Seton Hill University’s choir Una Voce on SATURDAY, MARCH 11, 2023 at 3:00PM. Much of their music is aligned with many of our positions on inclusion and justice and Dr. Mark A. Boyle is a dynamic advocate for many of the same things we at First Church adhere our faith to. Please come and support this experience with your presence! A free-will offering will be taken.
Una Voce is the auditioned chamber choir at Seton Hill University, a leading Catholic Liberal Arts institution in Greensburg, PA. Made up of students from first years to seniors and representing a variety of majors, the group sings repertoire from the vast choral canon, including music from across the globe. In addition to this local Spring tour, Una Voce has been invited to sing at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City where they will take part in the hall’s premiere of José Maurícío Nunes Garcia’s setting of the Requiem Mass. Nunes Garcia was a Afro-Brazilian composer who worked for the Royal Court in Rio de Janeiro in the early 1800s.
Una Voce is conducted by Mark A. Boyle, Director of Choral and Vocal Activities, and student assistant conductor, Riley Ohler, a senior Music Therapy major. Josie Merlino Ferrer serves as the ensemble’s collaborative keyboardist.
